Born and raised in Sydney, Australia - I had an obsession for tinkering and inventing since I was young. In my teenage years my sense of entrepreneurship led me to sell cookies in the school playground to pay for tickets to scientific exhibitions. When I was 14 I taught myself programming and put together a team with my fellow classmates to sell educational games to other students.

I went on to study Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Sydney in which I graduated in 2013 with an honours degree. During my time there I made my first breakthrough invention while working in partnership with the CSIRO. A human-robot gaze estimation system that allowed for robots to assist humans in a shared space based on their gaze point. After graduating my heart was set on technological innovation and entrepreneurship, my focus was on cutting edge human-centric robotics. My ambition led me to Japan where I joined a 5 year PhD program on Human Informatics and had the exciting honour of working on exoskeletons, smart suits, IoT platforms and cybernics technologies.

During my time in Japan I amassed a portfolio of inventions in sectors of human-robot interaction, wearable technologies, elderly care robots and wellness systems. My inventions culminated in my coined term of 'socIoT', the vision of a future society enhanced by a network of IoT objects. My works were published in scientific journals and conferences as well as patents. I made several appearances as a speaker, lecturer and panelist on all things IoT, technology and entrepreneurship. I have been a lead developer in the startup ecosystem in Japan and Australia over the years.

My current role is the CEO and Founder of LIFEFORM AI, a Health-tech AI company focused on developing intelligent interfaces for healthier habits. The main inventions of LIFEFORM AI are the LifeChair and LifeChair Pro which are the world’s first smart cushions and chairs for active posture training and activeness empowerment. Using the LifeChair technology we have worked with major global companies across many industries. Leading my company, I bootstrapped it until a full product was complete. Afterwards, I  went on to successfully raise capital, form collaborations with industry giants and negotiate licensing deals of my patented technology.

I obtained my PhD in Human Informatics in 2020 from the University of Tsukuba, Japan. I am an active researcher and academic, specializing in biomechanics, human-robot interaction, computer-human interaction, sensing technologies and mixed reality systems. My current interests are in wearable technologies and smart surfaces.
